Ferrari driver Lewis Hamilton has shared a photo of a touching tribute made to his late dog Roscoe. An incredible LEGO portrait of the beloved paddock dog was sent to the seven-time world champion, with the photo of the result receiving an outstanding response from fans across the globe.
Within the three-dimensional design are a number of Easter eggs, including a LEGO figure wearing a Ferrari racing suit, a Formula 1 car, Almave bottles, and figures representing what Hamilton wore at the 2024 Met Gala.
Hamilton announced earlier this month that Roscoe had died following another battle with pneumonia. Through a number of updates from the driver, it was confirmed that the dog had been hospitalised and placed on life support before passing ahead of the Singapore Grand Prix with his owner by his side.
Tributes poured in for the famous bulldog, with him being well known not only around the paddock but also across F1 with him boasting 1.5 million followers on Instagram alone and a successful modelling career.
“This lego portrait of Roscoe really touched me,” Hamilton wrote in an Instagram post. “The amount of detail in it is incredible and I can’t imagine how long it took. Thank you to Karen and Ilona for making this and sending it to me.”
The gift was sent to Hamilton by fans alongside incredible levels of support from fans of the driver, something he is grateful for.
“I also want to take a moment to thank all of you for the outpouring of love that there’s been since Roscoe’s passing. It’s still very painful and will be forever, but all of the support is helping me through this tremendously.
“I can’t thank you all enough. Many of you out there have also lost a pet so I know wherever Roscoe is he’s got tons of friends. He’s surrounded by love and good vibes, just as he was when he was alive.”
LEGO, the brand, commented on the photo. “A worthy tribute,” it said, while another commenter added: “Whoever gifted you that, absolute legend. Roscoe is never forgotten.”
Almave, Hamilton’s own brand of non-alcoholic tequila, also commented: “So this is a masterpiece.”
